NIKKI SIXX: MILEY CYRUS And The JONAS BROTHERS Are Not Rock And Roll

September 11, 2008

In a recent interview with RollingStone.com, MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx took some shots at a pair of recent chart-toppers. "There's things that I see where I go, 'Rockstar energy drink? Give a fucking break,'" Sixx said. "There's no rock stars involved in this. There's a lot of shit out there where people are calling it 'rock.' I went into Barnes & Noble the other day, and there's a huge display that says 'rock & roll,' and it had a big thing of MILEY CYRUS and the JONAS BROTHERS. I went, 'What the fuck is this?' People are believing that shit that is not rock 'n' roll, is not the rock lifestyle, is rock."

The paperback edition of Nikki Sixx's memoir, "The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star", will be released on October 28, 2008. Fans can pre-order their copy at the official Nikki Sixxonline store.

"The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star" (originally released September 18, 2007 via MTV Pocketbooks/Simon & Schuster) debuted at #7 on The New York Times Book Review non-fiction best-seller list.

Twenty-five percent of the book's profits are being donated to Running Wild In The NightSixx's fundraising initiative for Covenant House California, which helps keep runaway, abused and abandoned youth off the streets.
